You might be reading this right now and feeling frustrated because you feel that you are being attacked by the enemy despite your good efforts to work hard towards achieving a specific goal.
You might be doing all the right things. Praying, going to church, studying, working hard or even trying your best effort to stay out of trouble. Yet, it seems all your good efforts is only yielding disappointments due to the onslaught of negative occurrences.
Now, I want you to realise two things. Firstly, you have an enemy in the devil that does not want you doing the right things. His interest is invested in you staying in destructive and negative patterns.
So, when you are on the right part and expecting things to go right and they are not, it is not because God is not on your side, it is because you being on the right path infuriates the enemy and he wants you to get back on the wrong path.
I have found that whenever I am close to receiving something that I have been praying to God about, the enemy throws something unexpected at me. The CV that mysteriously disappears, the laziness and prayerlessness that creeps in from nowhere or losing an important document, just to name a few.
The moment this happens, almost simultaneously, you find out that discouragement and loss of hope follows. You lose the momentum for prayer and worship and you also lose the zeal and motivation you once had.
Here’s my encouragement to you. When you are on a path that you know is aligned to the will of God for you and you feel a push back from the enemy, don’t give up. See the enemy’s attack as a confirmation that you are on the right path. Press into God in prayer and worship so that He will empower you to keep going.
Your worship and prayer will not just draw you closer to God, but it will also disarm the enemy and empower you not to give up.
In Psalm 50:15 the Bible says call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.
So, instead of yielding to the temptation to be discouragement, loss of faith and doubt, this can actually become a space of cultivating greater intimacy with God through your earnest prayer and trust in God as your deliverer.
The truth is that the enemy cannot stop you from receiving what God has for you. He can only throw these attacks to scare and intimidate you. Although his attacks might be a form of delay, the delay is not a denial.
What I have found most encouraging is knowing that God is taking all the disappointment that the enemy throws your way and working it out for your good.
The Bible tells us in Romans 8:28 says that and we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
God always turns the roadblocks that the enemy has set against us into stepping stones to get us to the breakthrough He has for us.
He always replaces what the enemy has taken from with something better.
God is in the business of repaying you for the trouble the devil caused us. He doesn’t just give you back what has been stolen, he multiplies it.
So, when devil troubles you, be sure that there is a reward on the way and don’t give up. See Joel 2:25 and Isaiah 61:3.
